Hello my name is Maggie May Brummer, I just graduated from Ringling College of Art & Design majoring in Computer Animation with a passion for Look Development & 3D Modeling.
Bear Hugs is my animated short film I completed for my thesis:
This story is extremely personal to me as it relates to the mission of my own charity Bear Hugs Inc. In 2007, Bear Hugs Inc. was started by my mom (Tracey), my sister (Samantha), and I after discussing a way to give back after the many years my sister, Samantha was in the hospital during the holidays. In times of the unknown and loneliness while in the hospital, Samantha woke up on Christmas morning with presents around her bed. It wasn't just the "things" that gave a sense of joy but it was that Samantha and all the kids were remembered. In a way to continue that feeling, Bear Hugs Inc. was created. A non-profit charity that delivers teddy bear to kids in the hospital during the holidays. *Although this film is inspired by Bear Hugs Inc. it is not an advertisement, it is completely my student project*
Some process work and stills from Bear Hugs:
Although I enjoy the entire process of Computer Animation, I am passionate and enjoy Look Development and 3D modeling. Here is a reel to showcase that side of my work:
I wanted to dive into caricature and acting so I chose Matthew McConaughey to create a small short. I got to enhance my Animation skills including lip sync and my lighting, texturing and modeling skills.
