I am the Messenger Title Sequence

This project is a conceptual piece of a title sequence for the book by Markus Zusak titled I Am the Messenger. The story this title sequence explores is that of an ordinary cabbie named Ed Kennedy, who lives a boring life. One day, that all changes when Ed saves a bank. He is deemed a hero, but inside he is still the same. However, not for long. Soon after the bank event, Ed receives mysterious playing cards in the mail. The Aces give him addresses and names of people he has to help. These people are individuals in need and require Ed’s help. Helping them allows Ed to transform into an individual filled with purpose and meaning. The overarching question throughout the storyline is, who is sending him these cards?

Above are images of the process for this project. To make sure I got the right look I studied book covers of I am the Messenger from around the world, studied existing title sequences that had the same atmosphere as the book, and created a text study to stir inspiration and direction for the project.

An Ode to Unconventional Music

Many times in our day to day life we are consumed by the chaos of what we have to do and forget to stop and listen to the beauty and musicality of the sounds around us. This piece was created to shine the spotlight on the beautiful unconventional musical tones that we often overlook in our day to day life. It was created in Cinema 4D and Redshift, then composited in After Effects.

SCAD StartUp Title Sequence

SCAD StartUp is a design sprint hosted by SCAD Pro and Flux that allows students to bring their innovative ideas to life! Student ideas flourish in a way that allows them to connect with industry leaders who share their insights and vote on the winning concepts. I collaborated with Harshitha Suresh to create the 2023 branding title sequence that works to encapsulate the theme of embracing the unorthodox and thinking outside the box. I focused primarily on concepting and designing the motion piece using the branding colors and guidelines created by UX designers Jacky Lo and Vincent Lee  while Harshitha focused primarily on the animation. It was a true collaboration and something I enjoyed from start to finish! Check out the process and initial design board down below!

O.P.I Pretty Precision Concept Video

As artists we are always looking to make sure our projects are precise and well executed. This piece explores the idea of the journey it takes to create something from scratch in the creative industry and the amount of precision that goes into it. It is done as an concept of an artist collaboration between myself and O.P.I. Check out the design board down below!

The Dropout- Title Sequence

This title sequence was created to embody the toxic scientific energy of Elizabeth Holmes in the Theranos Scandal highlighted on Hulu's The Dropout. It was shot using a Sony FS5 and IPhone 12 Pro in collaboration with fellow artist Hannah Ford who helped in filming and editing the shots together alongside me. It was edited and composited within After Effects and Premiere Pro. The design board is down below!

TNF Halloween Promo Concept

Football is full of energy, passion, scary plays, and drama. These are things I love about the sport, and wanted to highlight in an entertaining way. Football takes place in one of the most exciting seasons: Spooky Season! As a new concept for sports design, this project explores the idea of combining halloween imagery with NFL Football footage to enhance the fun spontaneity and energy of the sport. The cel animation was done using ProCreate and Photoshop, video footage was edited in Premiere Pro, and the rest of the animations and all compositing was done inside of After Effects.

Thanks for viewing and have a lovely day!
