Hello, I'm HuanChiao Chen. This is my final project for foundation term at Think Tank Training Centre.
In this project I interpreted a 2D concept into a 3D piece. The concept I chose is originally from the talented artist Olga Orlova.

Here's the breakdown. I kept the robot symmetrical until doing the pose. It made me a lot more easier and efficient to do modeling and texturing. For graffiti, I've used photoshop to recreate them, painting them as masks in Mari. Ambient occlusion map was baked in V-ray.
For lighting, I used a sharp light as key light with a plane blocking, and used a big soft light as fill light. Had some additional lights enhancing little droids. The scene was pretty dark, so I placed a light to illuminate background a bit, and cranked up ISO.
Color grading was done in Photoshop using Camera Raw Filter. I've also increased sharpness to enhance some detail.
