ZHU BORUI - Concept Art 2023
Hi everyone, I'm ZHU BORUI and I'm graduating from Bellecour Ecole this year. This is a summary of the selection of my work during my two years at school. Hope you guys will like it.
This is my graduation project, positioned as an adult-oriented animated short film.
Story brief:
Humans, because of their excessive weakness and powerlessness in this world, have to choose to survive in the monster-infested wilderness like vultures, to find and carry the carcasses of other large creatures to get by.
The worms, another weak race, have chosen to co-exist in partnership with humans. Although not capable of fighting, they can give humans other additional abilities and, as living encyclopaedias, they are constantly teaching them the wisdom of the land.
One day, a team specialising in finding corpses found the remains of a creature they had never seen before in the wild. Driven by curiosity, they transported the body back to the tribe intending to study it further. But the next day the mysterious corpse disappeared and one by one the people began to merge with those around them by an unknown external force, the whole tribe fused into a ball which eventually transformed into a new corpse, identical to the one that had disappeared.
