I am very excited to be part of this instance, I am passionate about video game environments and everything that can be transmitted through them, getting here is not an easy road, today I feel that I have the opportunity to show how far I can go with what I have learned, I decided to publish the best I have to date.

Medieval Market

This is my biggest and most recent project in Unreal Engine 5.1 based on the incredible concept of Khoa Bui, the theme is "Medieval Back and Forth", and shows an environment set in a medieval market with certain elements that indicate an exchange between two eras. It was an incredible experience, and very important for me, this project brings together all my knowledge and enthusiasm for the creation of environments, I managed to put myself to the test and this was the result.

Cinematic

My goal was to show an environment in movement and to transmit a combination of sensations with the help of the stage setting and the music.

Several shots

The environment is completely walkable, I tried to cover the details of each corner, this helped me to be able to position myself easily to get several shots.

Gameplay video

Enjoy the tour!

Work progress

My biggest challenge was the lighting, but after some tests I managed to find the balance between shadows and highlights, without losing the contrast and detail of the objects.

Materials

Created in Substance designer, except for the last two canvases, which were created in Substance painter.

Assets

All the elements of the scene, I put my best in each of them, I wanted to capture the details in their shapes, I tried to model many variables to help break the repetition, we can divide the scene in some groups: houses, markets, structures, pipes, posters and fabrics, various objects of small size, mountains and the power plant, in addition to this I managed to create a smoke effect to add to the scene.

Here I show some of them in detail!

Vegetation

Finally I would like to share the process for the creation of vegetation in the scene, it does not predominate but it brings some detail to the environment.

The grass and bush are made from 2 images I took in the backyard of my house, although it is not the most efficient way, they were very useful to solve the vegetation quickly.
