The Pits

An ancient underground city, once abandoned, has been brought back to life in the near future. Life is chaotic and difficult for the people of the city, swamped by the oppressive megastructures that make up the fabric of their environment.

In my project we explore four different distinct environments that best show of the makeup of the city. The great entranceway descending into the earth; the grand desalination plants built to provide water to a thirsty city; the sprawling chaotic marketplace and finally the soaring apartments, built into ancient pillars throughout the vast chambers of the city.

My technical process primarily revolved around creating 3D models, all of which were from scratch, and then utilizing textures found online before editing it all on photoshop to add more depth of lighting and make minor edits such as chipping corners and fitting figures into the scenes.
