MICROCOSMOS: THE SCARBOR
Hello, I'm Quentin. I'm in 2nd year of 3D animation at ESMA school, and I would like to share with you my biggest project I've made : The microcosmos The goal was to create a insect with his environment. For this project we had to make everything: the concept, the 3D models, rig, shading, compositing and montage.
At the beginning, we draw little sketches to find the shape of the Insect. That was the first production. But mine was too humanoid.
So I try again to find better one.
At the same time, I try to draw the environment.
Then, the production can start.
I start with a layout of the animation and the environment in Maya.
The Scarbor is on the first step. The 3D modeling in Maya.
Zbrush for the details and the shading.
After I return to Maya and use Pixar Renderman to texture it.
For the grooming I use Xgen
After finish all the 3D models and start the shading, I've worked on the rig
Finally, I've done the brut sequence.
The final movie !!
