I am excited to share some of the projects I made during my 2022-2023 year at ESMA Lyon.

"Manny's Skate and Culture Shop"

Having based myself on the skateboarding scene in New York City with influences from hip-hop, basketball and the streetwear culture developed in this city, I decided to simulate a skate shop with a twist for this end-of-the-year project.

It took 3 weeks to produce from scratch and I'm responsible for all aspects except for the images and various designs, from posters to boards.

First frame

The view here tryes to conver the owner's, Mariano Johnson, Point of view when somebody enter the store. There's a lot of different articles that he sells but all somewhat respect a common aesthetic.

Second frame

In this frame, we can see the rest of the shop and the little universe Mariano crafted for people to come and pass the time.

"Lycaste Skinneri"

Also known as "Monja Blanca" in my home country, we were tasked to choose a flower and reproduce it in thge digital medium. I'm responsible for all aspects.

Final render

The goal was primarily to test Subsurface Scattering and try to repoduce the flower as realistic as possible, a good introduction since SSS tends to be one of the trickiest things to render.

"It's gotta be the shoes"

A long time fan of his airness, I had no other choice but to try to reproduce the iconic Air Jordan 1. There's a little details however in the tongue of the shoes as it is taken from the "Jordan 1 Retro High Spider-Man Origin Story".

I'm only responsible for the texturing and shading, all credit goes to the modeler for the shoe itself.

If you made it this far it's because you read the whole article, I really appreciate it. These were some of my works during the past year, I really hope you liked it and made your time worthwhile. Still tying to improve myself though!

Big thanks to you,

-Nicolás Ferraté
