A Tiny Tina's Wonderlands epic gun fanart!

This is my latest project and my first attempt at true hard-surface modeling. I've been wanting to make a gun in the Borderlands style for a while now and I've finally done it! I used my self-made shader for the major black lines of the outline, then drew the smaller ones by hand in Substance Painter. Getting the right textures for the different types of metal was a big challenge, but not as big as adding the infinite amount of nuts and bolts. I believe I worked a total of 2 weeks on this gun.

Unfortunately, I do not know who the concept artist nor 3D artist who made this gun is.

Bit of tea before heading off to battle!

There was no planning going into this project. I saw the concept art of both props and I knew I wanted to try and capture their style in 3D. It took me about 14 hours to finish everything and I sure learned a lot about making the comic book style. The entirety of the textures are hand drawn in Substance Painter.

Make stabbing a fashion statement!

I took a different approach with this dagger, doing a more realistic style. It took me about 3 weeks to finish and it was an interesting experience. Definitely learned how not to do retopology in Maya! I later revisited it to redo the textures, focusing more on the gold elements and the Damascus steel.

The artist behind the concept is Jessica Nguyen : https://www.jessketchin.com/many-magical-items

The creator of the wooden log is Christoph Schindelar : https://www.artstation.com/artwork/4mkRY

Hopefully Kai won't find it tacky!

First time seeing Kai in Kung Fu Panda 3 walking in, spinning his jade blades, I had shivers everywhere. Back then I didn't know 3D, but now that I do I made a slightly different version of the blades, with more spikes. I also added the small chi medallions. I'm proud of the concept and I wanted to share it! This took me about 1 day to do in 3D.

Concept art done by myself and inspired by Kung Fu Panda 3.

Dragons drop the best loot!

This project is a reproduction of Jan Wyss's interpretation of the staff from World of Warcraft that I realized while being a student at SAE Institute Geneva. This is the first weapon I did that has a high amount of details. I used Jan's brush pack to help me go faster and stay loyal to the reference. I did change some of the nuances in the textures because I found some elements hard to distinguish. Most of the textures are hand drawn and it took me about 1 month to complete.

The concept was done my Jan Wyss in collaboration with John Polidora : https://www.artstation.com/artwork/lkXmo

Thank you for your time!
