"Ice Breaker" is based on shipwrecks in an icy landscape, featuring a sinister camouflaged element of the environment design in the form of a creature known as the iceberg monster. The player's objective is to navigate through this landscape without being seen or, ideally, killed by the creature.

The player can traverse the red cranes that have been broken off the container ships by the hostile iceberg, as well as explore the cavities of the shipwrecks that house information about the iceberg and story elements.

Level 1 traversal, red bare metal to contrast the landscape with minimal icicles. The player can traverse without any upgrades.

Level 2 traversal, dense ice/ icicles which requires an upgrade of ice axes, to either climb over the ice or remove the ice.

Level 3 traversal, the crane is encapsulated by ice which requires both ice axes and crampons to climb. Less visible than 1 & 2 but still very obvious due to the colour contrast.

The crane model is from Juuso Voutilainen's "Industrial Kitbash V2" and the boats are from Sketchfab "https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/cargo-ship-b7c97df584824ca682d26daabf401f87" and "https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/supply-ship-0554a965f1be4c6da5996bbdfb01d770"

This is a forest port environment concept design.
The main export from the port is lumber, so the area around the town has been recently deforested but to contrast this the trees around the town are left untouched due to the spiritual importance of the massive non-native sequoia trees and magically occurring waterfall from the base of the massive tree.

This is a point of interest for the player can investigate in the town. The massive trees and surrounding forest have a visually imposing presence on the player and can only be explored when the player is ready and kitted out to go investigate the forest.
Boats are the main way for the player to traverse and explore the environment.

Charcoal Kilns are used by the townsfolk to make charcoal with excess wood, which they also export via the port.

I collected image references from the Pacific north-west in America, Cape Cod and Hamnoy Norway. I liked the idea of this port village having a mix of different port towns as the towns folk being well travelled and taking inspiration from their travels when building their homes. That and a large portion of the village are people that immigrated from other port towns and brought their style of building with them.

This concept is an ancient library in a desert landscape.

I played with the idea of there being two entrances, one of which was the original entrance (which has since collapsed and eroded away) and the other has been found by the antagonist party first so the player needs to use the more dangerous entrance. (thumbnail top right)

The "wells" works as both a point of interest and a light source, as well as a possible opening to a new area through a trap door that the player is forced into to escape the antagonist party.

The Landrover is a free-to-use model on sketchfab "https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/land-rover-defender-110-5773ec04488b46148816b5f7a9f3f44f"

I felt since the key light I went with felt most like morning light that a cloud inversion would be a fun bit of atmosphere to include to break down the gaps in the ruined bridge.

Thank you so much for looking at my work!
