Peanut the purple cat loves to bake and cook, its his passion. When the town holds a cake competition, Peanut faces judgement on his hard work.
LABOUR OF LOVE
This film is based on the Jupiter and The Monkey Aesop fable. Existing online as an artist can be draining with the unpredictable algorithm of views and popularity. I wanted my adaptation of the fable to serve as a reminder to love the process of your art and be proud of it and yourself regardless of how it’s received by others.

Working on the Final Character Designs:
I chose to go with a rounded and waited form for Peanut, to symbolise his power and grounded confidence. I also kept the limbs and head close to the body to create a sense of comfortability and warmth.
In contrast, when designing the cake competition judge, I chose to have the limbs long and disconnected from the body, representing a sense of distance from the heart and a lack of self-resonance; I wanted the audience to see the main character in contrast and perhaps realise and appreciate his confidence in his art and love for his creation even further, getting a feeling of ‘I want to be like him!’
