CERES
A short cinematic made by first year students from the NAD. Everything was made in 4 weeks from scratch in the context of our 3D and programation class final project.
Hey there! I am Jean-Philippe Perrault and with Joffrey Kouadio, Alaric Antos, Marly Beaudouin, Alyssia Bénard, and Sen Lai, a team of first year student and passionate 3D artists, we’re happy to present you our short cinematic we made with Unreal Engine 4, CERES.
We had a lot of technical challenges since we are all first year student and some of us never touched any 3D software 6 months earlier. First of, there was sequencer which I had to learn the ins and outs before starting to think about making the camera move. Further in our process of making vegetation, I decide to use the vertex painting workflow to create more variation in the last spherical room.
My work was mainly doing the artistic direction, level art and organisation with Joffrey Kouadio. I modeled the spherical room and the round platform in this same room. I Also did the textures for these models. Then I learned how to make the master shader for a vertex material and shared my learning with the rest of my team.
