Welcome to Red Fleet K-19, a VR puzzle-solving game developed at Escape Studios. Immerse yourself in the depths of the K-19 Submarine, a Soviet nuclear sea vessel on the verge of explosion. Uncover the mystery behind the crew's disappearance and save the submarine from imminent doom! We are excited to unveil our cinematic trailer below.

Meet 'The Expendables,' a team of nine exceptionally talented members led by Khash, our Art Director. Together, we have passionately crafted this immersive game project, pushing boundaries to deliver an amazing gaming experience. With a dedicated eight-week timeline, we wholeheartedly pour our efforts into this project, aiming to exceed all expectations. Below, you'll find 9 minutes of gameplay footage that showcases our game in action.

Experience the game's four distinct levels: 'Corridor,' 'Control Room,' 'Stair,' and 'Engine Room.' Each level has been meticulously designed to provide a seamless progression, with the connecting level effortlessly linking the two main stages. Below, you will find several in-game real-time screenshots.

Allow us to showcase the impressive talent of our Tech Artist, Lukas Sukackas, as he introduces his brilliant and versatile creation: the innovative Master Material. This remarkable development brings our modular designs to life, effectively eliminating any sense of repetitiveness. Below, you will find a video demonstration showcasing the functionality and capabilities of the Master Material.

The Master Material operates on a principle of utilizing two layers, with a bare metal base layer beneath a painted metal layer. Curvature and AO masks are employed, blended with various grunges, seamlessly transitioning between the two layers. Additional features include a world-space grunge to eliminate repetitiveness, Z-Up and AO dirt, among others.

Besides our exceptional Tech Artist, we must acknowledge the talent of our Prop, Environment, FX, and Lighting artists. Through collaboration and hard work, we bring the stunning Soviet vessel to life using modularity, Maya, Substance Suite, FX, and carefully crafted lighting. For instance, above is a prop created by one of our amazing Prop Artists, Tomas Anglim. Below, you will find a breakdown of the prop, showcasing from left to right: Diffuse, Wireframe, AO, Roughness, and Metallic.

Below, you will find the breakdown of our game, featuring the 'Corridor' level and the 'Control Room' level. The breakdown includes the following components from left to right: Diffuse, World Normal, Roughness, and Metallic. Additionally, we have included a Progress Shots breakdown, which highlights the evolution and adaptation of our project from the initial block-out stage to the final result.

                                                                          Control Level

Overall, this project has been an enjoyable and challenging experience. It has presented us with valuable opportunities to expand our technical skills and knowledge, greatly influencing the creation of our first VR game. Moving forward, if we were to undertake a similar project, we would prioritise incorporating more interactive and playable elements to enhance the overall experience.

Thank you for your interest in our game!
