'Last Vestige' is a project made by the Game Art Bachelors of the e-artsup Strasbourg campus in 3 months, as their graduation project. It was nominated by the "Tremplins créatifs" in the Game category of the year 2022.

In 'Last Vestige', you will enter a post-apocalyptic where you will play as Elio, a robot abandoned by his creator, who discovers a destroyed and unrecognizable land. A trip inside a captivating platformer full of cinematics awaits.

'Last Vestige' tells the story of Earth and Humanity's remains, following a terrible cold war, mixing technology and nuclear power. In 2070, the Earth has been taken over by robots with a powerful A.I, whose objective is to get rid of Human traces. Some groups of human survivors, living in hidden camps, looking for anything to survive. War is now between robots and humans. Elio wakes up after 40 years, and needs to find his place in this world, unknown to him.

You will develop several skills as you go along in your adventure, which you will have to use to get away from enemies who will try to capture you. After all, Elio is the last human-made robot, his system holds information that could be of use to the robot's raise in power.

We made a first prototype on Unity and made the choice to continue the project to add the ideas we had. The project was very successful at events.

So we're bringing the future project, re-made on Unreal Engine 5, for a totally different rendering and with upgraded art direction. but before that, check out the old project.

The main character, Elio, was imagined to be a multifunction robot, which has the ability to put itself in a cube, to be stored. The ability to be cubed is one of the most important, it allows the player to hide from enemies, being a character that cannot fight.

Elio has a small plant on his head to understand his emotions, an essential feedback so that the player can understand how Elio feels.

The environments have been designed to have their own atmosphere and light. The level design was conceived to allow the player to get to grips with the game, and to have increasing difficulty. Through the level, the player had to understand that he was not welcome and that he was the target of other robots.

We wanted to share with you the first look at the Unreal Engine 5 project, that we just started :
