AWAY FROM THE RAIN

This is a one month project referenced from the art for the concept music 'Away From The Rain' from Rayark Games DEEMO II. I wanted to do a project where I can utilize substance designer and practice building an environment modularly so with that in mind I decided on this piece. 

Reference Board

There were challenges with the camera set up since the concept art was only half of the original piece, but after many alterations I manage to find the right angle to work with. I also took quite a while until I achieved the lighting that I wanted.

Using the already built assets, I decided to expand the environment for this reel. The water drips and fog effects are from the Unreal Engine Marketplace, I have adjusted them to suite the overall mood of the environment.

The mix of plaster and brick texture is made through vertex painting.

These are the assets and textures created in Substance Designer. I added the water level node to the floor tile texture to give the floor variation in roughness when the light hits the floor. Although I have learned creating brick texture in class, I went researching tutorials on how to make the floor tiles that I wanted.

LAMP POST

This is a prop referenced from a concept art from Final Fantasy XIII: Lighting Returns. I find the shape and curves of the prop interesting and wanted to recreate it as a hero prop for my assignment. 

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

This is my first 3D project at Think Tank, referenced from a fan art “HA～PPY BIRTHDAY ～♪” by Asen Liy. Personally I am a huge fan of the animation that this fan art is based on and as soon as I saw it, my mind was already set on this piece. The proportions of the characters was quite challenging for me but since I really like art I knew had to get it right.
