Alien Technology

I started sketching some monoliths designs to get the look and feel of an old alien race.

Once I found the monoliths I liked I experimented with colours to find a unique colour scheme that will best suit the composition.

Final drawings of monoliths

Final look at the Monoliths with and without emission

The alien technology material was made in substance designer. This was used on all of the monoliths and on the smaller temple made later in production

Foliage

I started sketching some foliage designs base on real life then adapting them with alien designs. this was to get the look and feel of foliage on a distant planet but still making the plant function.

Once I chosen the foliage I liked I experimented with colour schemes that will best suit the composition.

Final drawings of Plants

Final look at the foliage with and without emission

All of the plants and leaves had emissions that I could turn off or on in unreal engine to adapid to night and day.

All plants was assembled in Maya. All trees were assembled in Speed Tree. Plant and tree base materials were made in substance painter/designer.

Production of project

Houdini water simulation

The water simulation clipped through the landscape making the large temple hidden under the floor be cut from this project. This allowed me more time to focused on other arears that needed more work.

Small temple

The small temple was added to fill up space but to create an eye-catching location in a empty area. This also used a simpler artefact in the center of the building.
