ROCK BUFFALO
Here you find the first project I did at Skyup Academy for the CGI Masterclass I'm attending.
This is the first project for the CGI masterclass I'm attending at Skyup Academy. The task assigned was to sculpt a fantasy creature from a concept. I used zbrush and then I rendered it within Maya using Vray. Below you will find the main steps from blocking to the final render.
The concept assigned to me was a fantasy buffalo. The hardest part was recreating the shapes of the fur and visualizing the volumes from a drawing. Here you find my references research.
I started from blocking volumes, and step by step I worked on the details, adding fur and stones. The beard was really challenging for me as it was the first time I approached such a complex character.
Here you will find the finished model ready to be rendered in Vray.
I chose a classic lighting between cold light against warm light. I really liked the reference I found of this marble sculpture and I tried to recreate it.
