Don't Count Your Chickens

Here is a scene which was made as a tester for a short film which I would like to create. The beach was filmed in HD on my DSLR camera. The visual and sound effects were created using Windows Video Editor.

3D animated characters need to be created and added to the scene which will become a bloody beach landing and battle between two armies.

This next video is the same as the previous one except that the sound has been removed and replaced with a score which sets the desired mood.

To pursue this project I would intend to meld real life film with 3D animation and digital effects using software which I don't have yet. On top of that I would produce the audio with my digital audio workstation using Pro Tools and Ableton Live.

To demonstrate my abilities in sound engineering for film I have included this scene from Apocalypse Now. I stripped the original film of all its sound and added a musical soundtrack of my own composition and production plus added all new sound effects and dialogue voiced by me.

In another example of my sound production for film, The Conversation, I was aiming for minimalism with a slightly surreal score to put a modern slant on the original 1974 film. I kept the Gene Hackman dialogue and replaced all the rest of the sound by creating new foley and music:

So, hopefully, you can see that I have the sound engineering and musical composition aspects to film making chugging along. To undertake this short film project which I have in mind what I need next is to own the correct software and learn how to augment real life film with 3D animation and visual effects. Thanks.
