FX - Castlevania Curse of Darkness - FanArt Remake
Here is my work on the FX for our very first group project in this fourth year at New3dge ! A lot of challenge but also a lot of pleasure. I'm really proud about the result ! The last year comes and its projects awaits.

Breakdown
Hector's abilities FX
I needed a fire material with enough parameters to alows me to use it on meshes thanks to the curves in Niagara
This skull was sculpted on Z-brush, textured on Substance Painter and animated on 3dsMax to finally been use into the Hector's Ultimate Attack and also for the enemies we fight on the game
Substance Designer was a great tool to make the decals with parallaxe on Unreal. They spawn in blueprint
The Heavy attack use the Dome Mesh that we can see on the Ultimate Strike. It can cause burning damage
I made this shader to have a fire trail. I used the ribbon emitter in several FX
Dracula's BloodDash
When Dracula shine in red, this Material Function is used, add to a fresnel into the emissive input. It follow the same way as the skull for the light and the dissolution effect, when he dive straight forward
