Concept Art and Illustration - Ana Kiknadze
Hey - I'm Ana Kiknadze, an artist from Georgia who studied at CG Spectrum for concept art and illustration and has a passion for character design and anything fantasy. Hope everyone enjoys my works!
Repainting Old Classic
Taking the classical painting An Offering by Frank Bernard Dicksee and repainting it with an original twist. Adding elements of androgyny and a more contemporary fashion.
Exploring different accessories (such as a headpiece and a differently styled attire) before painting over the sketch. Adding this more modern take on this classical painting to explore self-expression as it has always existed, while still remaining faithful to the original piece.
Character Design
Designing a character with the ideas of darkness and lamp-light in mind. Going through several iterations of costumes and hair before settling on the final design.
This design is inspired by traditional fairy-tale book villains such as Maleficent or the evil-step-mother, mixed with a TTRPG twist.
This includes varies in lamp design, hair length, and texture as well as facial hair. I wanted to create a character that came off as very gothic and eerie yet mythical, someone you'd meet in the forest on a long journey that would help guild you to your destination.
Illustration and Composition
Taking the game Darkest Dungeon and exploring a dynamic way to illustrate three characters in a piece that showed off the horror elements of the game as well as the character designs.
A process video from the rough sketch to the final render, exploring color and body composition.
Level Design
An environmental-level design for a Neanderthal-inspired setting that is supposed to be the 'base' for the character to enter and leave to the next level. The piece was first done in values before being painted over in colour.
