Crystal Forest Environment
This atmospheric, mossy set of ruins was a ton of fun to work on! Working through this environment presented lots of opportunities to create models and materials which pushed my skills and allowed me to learn a lot, as I tried to create practically every asset myself. It is based on concept art by Risa Lin.

Early on, I tried to nail down the look of the dead vines which grow along the building surfaces. Instead of manually modelling out each vine to adhere to the surface, I looked to SpeedTree to utilize a more procedural-based approach. In this video, I walk through the pipeline I used to create these vines in greater detail. It was through this process that I was presented the opportunity to learn the SpeedTree software and expand my toolkit.
