Game Animation - Akali & Blurgah
Compilation of animation pieces done during the 1-Year Game Art Diploma at 3dsense Media School
Demoreel
Parkour Animation
This is one of the pieces I am most proud of. As a former gymnast and dancer myself, I love body mechanics, especially parkour and acrobatics related movements, so this was totally up my alley.
Progression Reel
Dance Animation
For this piece, I did it on the side as an extra personal practice. I thought dance animations would generally be tough to do, but fortunately I finished it fairly quickly with little iterations.
Akali
Character Intro Animation
This was the first cinematic shot I ever did. It took a while and lots of advice to learn how to animate the camera right. It’s not perfect, but definitely one of the most fun shots for me so far!
3-Hit Combo Attack Animation
This 3-hit combo attack was one of the toughest animations for me because I did this early on in my learning journey when I was still trying to understand IK and FK. I completely botched it, so it took me twice the amount of time. At least I’ll never confuse IK and FK again - I’ve been traumatised.
Walk Animation
Run Animation
Dodge Animation
Blurgah
Walk Animation
This guy’s name is Blurgha and he is a tough rig to use. It didn’t have much toe and foot roll flexibility so this walk cycle was particularly hard to do. Thankfully, I think I managed to show his heavy weight with each step.
