Project Overview

This game environment, from initial sketches to final renders & the cinematic were developed, designed, prototyped and mapped entirely by me, Dylan Morehead, over a period of 1 month using Maya 2023, Adobe Substance, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro and Unreal Engine 4.27.

Please note that all designs, textures, narrative and voice-overs are of my own creation. However, all additional supporting music and sound effects are royalty-free assets and were obtained through Epidemic Sound via a paid membership. 

So what's this all about?

Welcome to the empty quarters of Dr. Thompson, a scientist held hostage aboard a rugged and decrepit space medical vessel. Alone and trapped against his will, Dr. Thompson's quarters tell of a man slowly losing his mind, working against his will, all with the promise of seeing his family again. The scene also shows, BOL, a decommissioned robot, who has been tasked with stealing his work. The underlying story tells of the current decay of the working human being and the textures drive it forward. Many of us are trapped in our workplaces, trying to find our way home, sacrificing mental and physical health for the promise of something greater. Does it ever come? For Dr. Thompson, that’s up for you to decide.
