TENDER

Tender is finally finished! This is my final entry.

I wanted to be as loyal as possible to the original concept from Mariia Tverdohleb. I used this project to learn more about the shaders in Maya and reinforce my SubD modelling.

I used Maya for modelling, UV mapping, shading, and rendering. The textures were made in Substance Painter.

I hope you like it and good luck to all the contestants!

Also, the little animation I did with the simple rig :)

Update - 13 Nov 2022

Final model and textures!! (Probably :P)
I've been playing with Substance Painter and Maya's shader graph to make the final look for the body and plants. I made all the SSS with procedural nodes inside Maya, and I like the results.

For the next and last update, I need to find a great pose and I'm also going to make a short and fun animation. Let's see if I have time to render it.

Update - 5 Nov 2022

First steps in the texturing department!
I have to work on them, this was a quick pass to see how it feels "fully rendered"

I also made a basic rig for when I want to do the final pose. It's a bad rig since it's my first time doing one, but a bad rig is still better than none :D

I still have plans to improve both flowers since I made them with poly modelling.

Update - 28 Oct 2022

I've been cleaning the model and trying to recreate some of the leg mechanisms. Now I want to try and make an IK rig so I can pose easily and maybe do some cute animations. I've been doing some testing, but I need to think a bit more about how I'm going to approach it.


Next steps in my list:

- Arms mechanisms
- Do the flower in Zbrush
- I have to figure out how I'm going to do the water. I have some ideas, but i need to test them

Hi!
I've been saving this concept for a while now, and noy I think it's a great oportunity to finally model it.

With this project I want to improve my Sub-D modelling and try experimenting a bit with shading inside Maya, so lets see what can I achieve :D.
