This is a project I made with the aim to improve my asset creation skills.

This is a project I made to improve and challenge my skills for the whole asset pipeline creation.
I was inspired by a concept I made while studying at university a few years back and more a more recent period of my life when I had the habit to binge-watch watchmakers on YouTube. I named it Fishbone because the blades made it look like a fishbone. The name later inspired some of the details on the model.

The project was entirely done in Blender. Rendered in Eevee.

Initially I was torn between making a realistic highpoly model or a lowpoly game ready model. Eventually I decided to make a real-time model for animation. That allowed me to have more poligons to work with. That gave me more breathing room to create the insides of the mechanism.

I primary used procedural textures. The only exception is a smudge texture.

The project helped me to learn a lot of new techniques and showed me what more I need to learn. I would like to reach a point where I am confident with the whole asset creation pipeline. My main focus on the project was to improve my modeling. Lighting and texturing would be my next focus.
