Louis Stelfox
by Adam Souster, Amelia Tzemis, Bethany Fox, Vilte Bendziute, and louisstelfox on 22 May 2019 for Rookie Awards 2019

These are some of the projects I've been working on during my second year at the University of Hertfordshire. All of this was lit and rendered in UE4, modelled in Maya and Zbrush and textured using Substance Painter and Designer. Hope you enjoy! Artstation: https://www.artstation.com/louisstelfox

3D Showreel 2019 - UE4

The City of Connacates: 2nd Year Creative Project - UE4

These are some  screenshots that I thought I'd share of our second year project called Rowan (set in the city of Connacates. I was in charge of building and texturing all the architecture modularly, along with creating the landscape including the rocks, foliage and materials, along with some street assets. I was responsible for the level design, layout and lighting for the project.

Kingsman Inspired Tailor Shop - UE4

Inspired from the tailor shop featured in the movie 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' and also this amazing concept done by Alexander Light (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/wDoaV) . I chose to splice togather the concept and the original movie setting to create this environment and also making it a full 360 environment. Modelled in Autodesk Maya and Zbrush, textured in Substance Painter and Designer, lit and rendered in UE4.

The Lonely Dock Market - UE4

Fairly large summer project to learn more about game asset creation, texturing, lighting and layout in Unreal Engine. Originally inspired by this amazing concept by Eugene Je (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/O9ze6), I changed up the project to give it my own take by changing the setting. I used the water planes asset from the store for the water base. Everything here is rendered and lit in Unreal Engine 4.19.

Dart Board Study: Substance Designer

I wanted to get to know some of the different nodes in Designer a bit better so challenged myself to create a dart board purely in Substance Designer over a couple of days. The dart board uses height and tessellation for the metallic components, the rest of the details are powered by the normal map. I did two variations, a front and back, which I then applied to this thick cylinder and added the darts and hook. Darts and hook were modelled in Maya and textured in Substance Painter. Rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.

Fallout Securitron - UE4

This project was a chance to brush up on my rigging skills and practise using materials and blueprints in UE4. I chose to create the original Securitron Character from Obsidians Fallout New Vegas because I've always been a fan and have been eager to do something from the Fallout universe and try and add a bit of story through the environment. I did a mini environment in the background to add some context and lore.

[WIP] San Francisco Modular Houses - UE4

This was a project I started working on late 2018 and unfortunately had to put on hold for the time being. The building is based off the painted lady houses in San Francisco, along with the road and street lamps. With the kit from the larger red building I was able to create the smaller purple buildings as a way to test its modularity and to make the scene feel a bit more alive. I want to take this further by adding some more street props and eventually a street car to busy up the road a bit more, along with fixing some of the glaring tech errors in the scene.
