Reincarnation is a first-person horror puzzle game. Players play as a guy who had broken up with his girlfriend and tries to get her back. While players can also explore the truth of the matter.

One day in 2015, a guy who had just broken up with his girlfriend suddenly woke up on his campus. You will play as that guy and try to get his ex-girlfriend back. In the process of searching for his ex-girlfriend, you will discover some incredible things and the truth of the matter...

Ambiances

At the beginning of the game, the ambiance of the evening (such as sound effects, lighting, etc.) was applied to make the overall environment less tense and scary. This allows players to have enough time and a sense of security to learn the basic operations in the game and familiarize themselves with the mechanics of the game in the first classroom. Conversely, to make the whole scene gloomy at night, all lights use cool tones. And applied scary ambient sound as background music.

Scene Layout

The classrooms are arranged in two straight lines, creating a long corridor. This can cause players to feel intimidated by not being able to see the road ahead. And each classroom will open in turn according to the progress of the game.  

In addition, in order to make the game better optimized, some inaccessible places have been simplified. (e.g. removing items or using simplified models)

A few different table arrangements were used where some were inaccessible but could be seen through the windows. Or use something to cover the window. This doesn't seem to make players feel like every classroom is the same while adding some mystery.

Characters

The teacher's figure is dressed in a red long-sleeved dress, as red will stand out in this cool, dark environment. At the same time, long skirts can create the effect of characters floating in the air. At the same time, to make the teacher look like a ghost, a glow effect was added to the material in Unity.

The clothing of the female student figure is based on the design of the uniform of a Malaysian secondary school girl. Because the background of the game is a story that happened during secondary school.

The animations and poses of the characters are from Mixamo.

In addition, character face is a huge challenge for making character models for the first time. So facial expressions are avoided in this game. This applies to the female student, as the player doesn't have the opportunity to see the female student's face closely in the game. But the teacher can't because when the players are caught by the teacher, the player will see the teacher's face. Fortunately, because the teacher is a ghost, the facial expressions can be distorted.

Easter Egg

Easter eggs can increase the suspense of the game. This allows players to use their imagination to explore the meaning behind it. At the same time, Easter eggs can also satisfy the author's guilty pleasure.

Assets

All the assets in the game, even the walls, are made in Blender and then imported into Unity. Then copy and paste in Unity to create the scene layout. The benefit of this is that assets can be reused and work reduced.

On the other hand, the material of the assets is also done on Unity. When making a model in Blender, classify the materials of the model part, and then import the texture materials in Unity. Only a few model materials use UV mapping.
