Project Brief

To deisgn a futuristic and cyberpunk hotel with the music concept, with the site located at Jalan Bulan, off, Jln Bukit Bintang, 55100, Kuala Lumpur.

Ground Floor - Cafe Zone 

The unique dining booth design in the cafe zone reflects the bright spirit of the futuristic and multi-dimensional city with a provocative and playful design inspired by music.

Site Issue: Nightlife spot area causes Overcrowded and Noise Pollution.

As known the site at Bukit Bintang is a golden triangle area in Kuala Lumpur. It is also known as the party heart of KL. As an eventful place that is full of exciting nightlife, it has various entertainment, extreme competition between the bar and club that suit every age group and income, and music. Besides, the traditional activities around Bukit Bintang is the street performance of Malaysian local musicians or artists in public spaces. Due to this reason, it often causes crowd gathering to watch their performance at the roadside.

However, this exciting and eventful scene has slowly decreased due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The impact of covid-19 has caused people to be fearful engaging in social activities. As a result, it affecting the close down of roadside performances and the gathering in the bar and club with live music

Upper Mezzanine - All Day Dining 

The all-day dining area with the LED guitar shape stage showcase at the center offering a unique interstellar experience. The stage installed not only becomes a walkway to the buffer area but also acts as a performing stage.

Concept:

Therefore, with the site issue, the concept attempts to design a new dimension of nightlife into the hotel industry with various forms of entertainment for people. By bringing the music culture of the street scene of Bukit Bintang into the hotel, it provides the local musician and artists with a brand new space to show their talents and their passion for music.

To continue the spirit of nightlife, the hotel does not only include a nightclub hybrid with feature performances such as DJs, dance culture, concerts, and collaboration with musicians or singers. Besides, it also uses music to design distinct personalities and identities of the brand for a different fields. With the music designed, each area with different visual styles and functions creates a connection and interaction between each other.

First Floor - Co-Working Area 

The Co-working area has been combined with the gaming area to provide a multi-functional and playful experience to the guests as the slogan shown on the wall, ' Work Hard, Play Hard'.

Level 2 - Twin Room

The inspiration of the twin room design is from the music concept which promote themes like a parallel universe, and new age wave. The interior that characterizes the futuristic appearance is the circular-shaped wall design and furniture. Both the projector behind the bed and the LED light are changeable according to the guests' preference.

Level 10 - Mini Suite

The mini suite is more sci-fic concept with multi-dimensional design. The window seating provides the guest a place to enjoy reading and sunbathe through the window.  Both the projector on the wall and the LED light are also changeable according to the guests' preference.

Level 16 - Roadie Capsule Room

The Capsule room is to welcoming the solo singers or musicians to visit the hotel and offer them a place to share their passion and idea in music with others.

Level 17 - Music Recording Studio

The hotel offers the musicians a professional studios with hi-tech equipment and welcoming them to spend their time in paradise recording their own music.

Level 17 - Theater 

The customized sleek concept seating booth designed in the theater is not identical like the cinema we have now. Instead, it looks incredibly cool and wonderfully futuristic which offers an intimate audio and visual experience. 

Level 18 - Concert Hall Stage and tunnel

The concert stage and tunnel are inspired by the music rhythm and creates a gorgeous vision of the cyberpunk concept. The tunnel act as a pathway how the music transmit from the instrument to the ears. The background and LED lighting will be designed according to the theme of the concert held inside the hall.

Level 19 - Rooftop Glass Concert Hub

The concert hub on the rooftop provides a fantastic and immersive experience to the guests while having some cocktails or wine at the rooftop bar. It also invites the guests to enjoy the live music and marvel at the night view of Kuala Lumpur. The ramped walkway installed outside the glass hub allows the guests to walk up to take some instagrammable pictures and provides them a spectacular 360° views of the city.
