Hyperpass is a game made during the DAE 2020-2021 Easter gamejam in 48 hours. Compete as one of two teams and claim the ball as yours! Beware, you can't hold it for long and as soon as you try to pass it to your friend the other team might snatch it from you in a 2-minute game of cat and mouse!

Hyperpass is a game made by a team of 3 artists and 3 programmers:
Jules Willemyns, Marcello Acevedo,  Katharina Alexander, Henri-Thibault Huyghe, Ian Duforet and Rhidian De Wit.


Jules Willemyns created the 3D level for the game.
Marcello Acevedo designed the 3D player models, modelled them and animated them.
Katharina Alexander made all 2D assets, such as the end screen, start screen, tutorial screen, ...
Henri-Thibault Huyghe made sure all of the code didn't become too much off a mess, saved us all with his Github knowledge, created the rainbow shader, implemented the dynamically switching materials and the moving parts of the level.
Ian Duforet was Team Captain who guided us through the Game Jam, he implemented the Post-Processing effects, Particle Effects, ball movement, helped everyone understand Unity and made the sound effects.
Rhidian De Wit implemented the Player movement and input, Score system and designed the music.

This game was made as a submission for the DAE 2021 Virtual Easter JAM!

The theme of this game jam was "Can't hold it!" and considering we only had a bit more than 48 hours to work with, we instantly went to work with that idea.

Some of the first ideas that sprang to our minds were something Hot-Potato based, where the players were divided into teams, and had to pass a ball over walls and to each other without being intercepted by the other team. A simulation game was also considered, with the theme being that the player is an Alien tasked with keeping the Earth's well being up!

In the end, we decided on the game we have now: Hyperpass. A game where the players are divided into teams of two. The goal is simple, get the most points and win!
Your team gains points by simply holding the ball, but, there's a catch! You can only hold the ball for a very short amount of time before you're forced to pass the ball!
