AVALYON

FIRST PROJECT

"AVALYON", or how emblematic squares, buildings and monuments of the french city of Lyon  find themselves projected into fantastic universes...

Following an extremely rare disaster, the city of Lyon finds itself fragmented and sent to strange and unknown places. A few centuries pass ... Human beings are able to "trace" the movement of buildings and to travel there. Pandimensional tourism is born.

AVALYON is my personal project made during my third year at "Bellecour Ecole" (in Lyon, France).

The goal of this project is to create a tourist book, imaginary and fun, illustrated, as if it was addressed to these famous tourists. For all. :) 

THE TOWERS OF PART-DIEU

The first explorers land on a frozen planet. Two Lyon towers (of the old business district) stand atop the snow-capped peaks. It turns out that a local civilization has found in the shadow of these two giants a place suitable for its development.

BELLECOUR PLACE

Place Bellecour is divided by deep canyons and surrounded by roaring volcanoes... Volcanic concretions form astonishing reliefs imbued with imagination. The fauna is adapted to these extreme climatic conditions. The Basilica of Fourvière and the Tower of Lyon remain recognizable in the background.

THE OLD LYON

This iconic neighborhood now nestles in the lush canopy of a wooded planet. Birdsong and iridescent shimmering saturate the senses with captivating sounds and lights. The Saint Jean Cathedral rubs shoulders with leafy giants, the interior courtyards become secret gardens and tourists love tree-lined cottages. 

SONGS OF AVALYON: BIRDS OF THE OLD LYON

The birds of the Old Lyon sound their melodious trills in the canopy. One of the first explorers produced naturalist boards for museums of the "old" Earth.

THE FNAC BUILDING "REPUBLIC"

The Fnac building finds itself thrown into the entrances of a huge inhabited asteroid. The native creatures are surprising and slightly disturbing...

THE MUSEUM OF CONFLUENCES

This great cultural building is found at the bottom of the oceans. Imagine such a museum that one could visit. Visitors wander the aisles and gaze at the works under the huge picture windows, dividing their attention between the exhibits and the teeming underwater life of this submerged planet.

SECOND PROJET

THE LORD OF THE RINGS: CARTOON VERSION

A 2D cartoon version, very refined and full of humor of the Lord of the Rings. For children. The dwarf, the elf and the mount of the Nazgul are imaginary. Among the 6 characters, I admit having a preference for the yak dog! ^^

THIRD PROJECT

BELLINE

Belline features two characters in a distant future who travel from planet to planet in order to compete in intergalactic racing cars.

I have chosen to present two humanoid mice whose rat-shaped spaceship reflects a steampunk influence. Both characters are Rastonians, a race created by humans from a mixture of human and mouse DNA. Their people were created to mine for rare ore from a distant planet. Abandoned over time, they have learned to develop their own technology from the remains left by humans and manage perfectly independently.

Added to this: a competitive weapon putting competitors out of the circuit, a vessel in the image of its designers and an environment representing a small part of the circuit.
