by cydtseng on 31 May 2021 for Rookie Awards 2021

Hey there, thanks for dropping by! I'm Cyd, a 3D hobbyist. I enjoy the magical feeling of seeing a world unravel before my eyes on the computer.

Round of applause for our sponsors

The Radius is a mysterious meteor that landed beside the lake in the valley hundreds of years ago. As time passed, a highway was built around it, for those who sought a quicker way to travel through the mountain ranges. Presently, The Radius sits silently day after day, watching over the occasional cars travelling along the road as well as curious tourists who come to visit, hoping to catch a glimpse of this enigmatic rock firsthand.

Only one true king.

A small project to improve my understanding of the Unity camera and stylisation effect options. Inspired after rewatching one of my favorite horror films, Kairo.

Route 22 was inspired by the beautiful daytime environments in Days Gone. It was a good practice with regards to decal employment for blending, as the asphalt needed to seem like it was a part of the lush environment around.

A collection of other environment works.

Moonlight Station

Moonlight Station was inspired by traditional train stations in Taiwan, I tried to replicate the sense of isolation and mystery when I was waiting for the train late in the evening and not many commuters were around. Modelled In Rhinoceros, rendered with Octane Render. Texturing done with photoshop.

Before The Assault

"He will be home soon."

Primary modelling done in Maya , damage pass in Zbrush, texturing done with Substance Painter, rendered with Octane Render, paintover in Photoshop.

Visions Of The Future

Conceptual frames that sought to express a sequential narrative that documents an explorer's journey across a massive, hostile environment driven by artificiality, data and information.

That's all for now! Once again, thank you so much for sparing some of your time to look at my works!

There's still so many more worlds and stories out there for us to explore!
