"Magical forest" Environment
Here's an environment created in Unreal Engine 5!
Here's an environment I created in Unreal Engine 5.3.
I decided to make this environment as render scene for a character I'm currently working on (updates soon!).
First of all, using the Landscape mode on Unreal Engine, I created the higher and lower grounds to delineate a muddy path.
Then, using some Quixel assets I created a layout of trees and bushes to surround the environment, adding grass and plants to fill up the ground using the Foliage mode.
I decided to use only a Directional light to light up the scene, as I wanted to give it a "moon lighted" effect.
After that I fixed and setted up the ExponentialHeightFog, the SkyLight, the SkyAtmosphere and the VolumetricCloud to make it look more dark and mysterius.
Last thing, to add some magic and fantasy atmosphere, I created a Niagara system to simulate some fireflies flying around, giving them a simple emissive map to slightly light up the scene.
For the render, I used the sequencer settings and the graph editor to animate the cameras during the render, creating some camera's movements and focal lenght changes during the animations.
