Round of applause for our sponsors

I'm happy to finally present a project that I've been working on for a few weeks now. "Behemoths Respite" was my take on a book cover created by Nele Diel.

I wanted to try and capture the feeling of Frank Frazetta through 3D. I played around with contrast in a lot of different forms.

For the entire scene, I wanted to get as much high res detail in as possible. Keeping myself organized working between different software helped immensely.

When I was creating this scene, I had to set dress delicately. I could have very easily over crowded the space and made the throne room look more ransacked than anything.

The creation of my trim sheet was probably my favorite part of the project. I love sculpting environments and giving them that extra bit of love that they deserve.

Just a quick process to show how much my lighting had changed throughout the project.

Showcase of all the models that I used to create this scene.

This was my master material that I used for all of my textures in Unreal. Keeping it clean and organized really helped me trouble shoot and make adjustments to outputs on the fly.

I sculpted two separate trims in the event that I wanted to vertex paint between the two. For sculpting I like to build off of alphas using trim smooth border and the planar brush. I also like using standard with color spray to get minor deterioration details.

This project had its highs and lows but ultimately it was an incredible experience. I learned so much from so many different people who provided me feedback along the way.
