CHIBIX ADVENTURE

This project was my first "big" developed game with my teammates.  Its a roguelike where our virtual pet has been left alone by his owner. We will have to get deeper inside the console to find a scape and survive while other corrupted pets try to finish our journey.

The video game narrative

You are a virtual pet that after years with its owner has been stored indefinitely in dust and boxes. Little by little the battery of the console is running out and the rest of the creatures have been corrupted by the disuse and bad state of the components. Your mission is to get to the centre of the corruption and stop it.

The gameplay

Once we enter the dungeon we must find our way to the portal that will take us to the centre of corruption. This path will not be easy because it is full of divided paths and enemies that will try to kill us.

Also if we fall in battle we will be thrown out of the dungeon. Once we enter again we will notice that things have changed because every time we enter a new one is created.

MY ROLES

During the development my roles were programmer, designer and being the lead of the project.

Having so many occupations helped me understand from different points of view what it takes to develop an idea. It also allowed me to learn all kinds of skills and train myself.

Programmer

As a programmer my main task was the procedural generation of the dungeons and the items that can be obtained. This includes the way they are generated taking into account whether the room is a normal enemy room or the final boss room.

The different phases of development are shown below. Starting with simple shapes, going through the counting of the room type and finally placing the enemies and the artwork.
