The Story of Saiunkoku - Shurei Hong

Body and Clothing
Body and clothing were primarily sculpted in Zbrush using the basic clay buildup, clay, dam standard and move brushes. I fine tuned the folds afterwards with the cloth move brush.

Topology
 I ZRemeshed and transferred the model to Blender. An exception was the coat and dress, which I manually retopologized in Maya. I was struggling to match the face with the concept so I camera projected the reference image onto the mesh in Blender and further adjusted the mesh there.

For optimization I believe that many parts of the mesh, such as the hair, face and scroll, will have to be further decimated.

Hair
Hair was built with curves in Blender. For the shader I experimented with the Texture Coordinate Node for a more stylized effect. 

Accessories
The jade rings for the hair and the pendant were built in Blender and textured in Substance Painter. The embroidery material was transferred from Substance Sampler to Substance Painter.

The coat material is from Blender's native velvet BSDF shader.
