European Bison

After some iteration this is the final color map. Not decided if I'm going to do the groom yet but at the moment this is the finished model and next up are final renders and presenation. 

Testing out displacement out of Zbrush

This is a practice project I did as a part of a series of learning animal anatomy. I choose European bison because that type of animal has a very interesting anatomy and I haven't seen much renditions of it here or on Artstation. I have tried to sculpt realistic animals before but never have I achieved a believable result. Écorchés are easy to make but adding skin and fat on top is where the challenge lies. Having the forms flow naturally and having the right amount of softness and definition took a lot of time to resolve.
