Through my short animation film, 'In Het Lichaam Van Mijn Vader Zit Een Man Die Ik Niet Ken' I aim to shed light on the often overlooked father-daughter relationship, which has received limited research attention. It is only in recent times that we have come to understand the significant influence a father holds over his daughter's life. In this film I share my personal journey of rediscovering the father-daughter relationship. 

As I ventured into adulthood and moved away from home, I noticed a gradual weakening of the bond between my father and me. His reserved nature, coupled with our lack of emotional conversations, made him feel like a stranger to me. It struck me that I, as an adult woman, hold the power to shape and nurture our connection. Inspired by my own experiences, I aspire to spark conversations between fathers and daughters, encouraging them to openly discuss their imperfect relationships and explore the potential for growth and understanding.
