Pocket Watch

This was a solo project I decided to create this year as a sort of test of my own skills and to learn some new ones. I created a pocket watch that I have in real life, and worked on making it as accurate as possible, while also improving areas for artistic reasons.

This project was mostly a test of my own abilities and a test of how quickly I could learn and apply new abilities as well.

I wanted to create an object I had to hand, something I could life up to my eye to visualize all the details on it, and in this I chose this pocket watch I received at a ren faire last year. I believed it to be simple enough that I could get it completed within a relatively good amount of time, but detailed enough to show of sculpting and advanced texturing techniques.

This project was a really good test of skills for me and allowed me to practice both creating an object from real life and getting accurate materials, and sculpting within ZBrush- something I have not been able to get much practice in with.

Here are some of the break down slides I took for my Artstation, and to just show off the wire frames, texture packing and my original references for this item.
