Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX100 II
Stop motion style video of a camera.
When I saw the topic of the 4th Weekly Drill (Weekly Drills 004 - #CameraGear) I got the idea of creating a camera in 3D as realistically as I can.
I chose to model a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX100 II as I think it looks preety cool.
(I made the model in Maya, textured it in Substance Painter and rendered using Arnold.)
When I was done with both the modeling and texturing part I couldn't help but feel like I should continue this project.
I gave myself a new objective: creating a stop motion style video. The plan was to make a short but visually pleasing video, kind of like those commercials on tv. I found that playing with the colours is a rather simple but efficient way of reaching that goal.
At first I changed the colour of the background
Then I made similarely colored texture maps for the camera to get the result I was aiming for.
I only realised halfway through the project how much I was inspired unconsciously by Andy Warhol's works.
(I made the video using After Effects.)
