The creative realm is where I feel most inspired and excited when it comes to producing something that I can share with others. Narrowing down exactly where I fit in the field has been the most challenging part for me. Over the last 7 years I've dabbled in everything between figure drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, graphic design, textiles, printmaking, and architectural design. Being artistically and technically minded, I've landed on 3D modeling, and it has been the perfect fit for me.

I have always doodled but I was primarily a liberal arts student through high school. However, come college I felt a strong attraction to the realm of design. At first it was industrial design, but I quickly realized that I wanted to be a 3D artist. Once I made that connection, I transferred schools and immediately began to purse my goal intently. I still feel like I have a lot to learn and accomplish, but this is where I need to be and I am doing what I love!

For a class assignment

I first knew I wanted to make art for games, film and anything entertainment related when browsing in game concept art galleries from my favorite games. (Yes I am probably one of the few people that looked through those.) Once I realized that painting and drawing worlds and narrative illustrations was a viable career path I began practicing every day.

I first realized this when I was about 7 or 8 years old. I loved the storytelling of games and movies and how it taught me lifelong lessons. It has always been the graphics that brought my imagination to life.

the earliest I can remember having the dream to be in the industry was when I was roughly 6. My dream has grown and morphed with age but it is to be able to be apart of making a game or film/series that entices and pulls each person in. Creating adventures and quests that pull you away from the mundanity of life and brings that excitement and happiness world-round. Something that everyone remembers with fondness and can be counted among the classics.

When I was a kid, I used to have all these drawers just full of these little paper games. I'd cut out all these layers and use those rolls of clear mailing tape to attach to characters you could move "off-screen". It was more than a little rough, but it developed into a life time interest in art and design. Legos, 3D, papercraft, drawing, you name it. Eventually, the ambitious projects became something more attainable as my skills caught up and I've found myself hooked ever since.

When I realized that my passion to create and my interest in the technical side of creation could come together and actually work together.

My creative beginnings were not uncommon. Like a majority of artists, I've had a pencil in my hand from the moment I can remember... Though that being the case, my passions varied over many things; Astronautics, Paleontology, Theater arts, Puppetry and anything in between. Inevitably, I always fell back to art. After moving halfway through 7th grade, my art class watched a video on 'How to get a job at Pixar.' That was my realization. You can have a job making movies?! My brain exploded.

Growing up, I was always behind my friends when it came to console gaming. I was still jamming cassettes, while everybody else had moved on to the CD future. That changed during the PS2 and Xbox 360 era. I fell in love with almost every game I could get my hands on. It was amazing seeing the realistic characters move on my screen, and seeing the environments filled with so much life. After that, all I wanted to do, was be around the teams that made so many people feel that same joy every day.
