Round of applause for our sponsors

I have always been creatively inclined, with an interest in games. It wasn't until I started learning to code that I realised it could be both a creative outlet and a potential career. I've had game development as an aspiration ever since.

VR content creation has been a passion of mine for many years. Through my love of VRChat, I have developed a strong interest in creating virtual clothes, worlds and avatars for other users online.

I've always been interested in doing something creative with my life. I find fun in doing this and would like the opportunity to pursue it further in order to develop and refine my skills.

I first realized I wanted to work in creative industries back in 2020, when I was in year 12 at college, where I was doing an art a-level and trying to work out what I want to be in life. Then in June of that year a game called The last Of Us Part 2 came out, and it blew my mind. I then began looking into how the game was made from start to finish and for the first time I properly saw that I could make games for a living! I then applied to University at East London University.

After working many years of minimum wage jobs, I realised I wanted to do something better. I had an interest in technology, art and video games. So, it made sense to go into 3D game art.

I spent a lot of my childhood playing video games as an escape from school, and I want to give other people that opportunity.

I realised I wanted to work in the creative industries when I started applying to universities. It was a time I was pretty lost in life as my original plan for my future became confused. I didn't get the grades I needed, the university wouldn't accept me and it made me think programming wasn't the option for me, I wasn't good enough. However, from the bad, came the good because it made me rethink why I wanted to be a programmer in the first place. This turned out to be video games.

Nearing the completion of my A level qualifications I thought about what I would like to study at university, it was then that I realised I would love to turn my hobby of playing games into a future career. After all, some of my earliest memories as a child were playing the GameCube with my brother.

I have always had a vision in my mind, and I want to turn it into an art that people can enjoy and interact with. To make that dream come true i started passionately and enthusiastically work in creative industry.

When I was in Primary School, I had an adoration for games and wanting to create and decided that I'd just go for it.

my love for the creative industry began at the age of 13, after completing my first original comic series

Roughly three years ago, when first finding my passion for game dev.

When I see other people making amazing things such as 3D models, animations and content. I wanted to make them on my own under my own brain but I don't know how.

I've always had an interest in making stuff for games but didn't know specifically which field I wanted to go for. I made a couple mods/maps for games like Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Black ops 3 and Garry's Mod mostly consisting of game modes and characters. While making all these I realised I been enjoying the art part more than coming up with original ideas for gameplay. I felt more interested in making them look good than designing map layouts.

I realise that I wanted to work when I discovered that there is a game programming course on university, I like it then I restart to play video games to study their gameplay and analizing his gameplay mechanics

I started out with an imagination for creating games in the past, continuing to develop them through software such as Power Point, Paint. Drawing and writing my concepts on paper with diagrams, bullet points and sketches. My Progress improved through college at Barking and Dagenham making animations and more concept art. A big improvement in University of East London were I can finally create games on software like Unity and Unreal including others I may have used (Twine, Scratch, Game Maker).

Since childhood, I knew I felt a calling towards creative industries and all I wanted was to do art. However, I faced many challenges along the way and my circumstances blocked me from working towards my goal, but in spite of that, many years later I managed to break out of those challenges and get back on track and enrolled in a creative course at university in London. I am now in my final year, about to graduate and looking to finally step into the industry.

I first realized my creative freedom when I took part in a 3D Modelling class as part of College, Making my first 3D model, It sparked a creative instinct to make my thoughts and ideas become a reality. I've been a gamer since childhood and being immersed in these worlds made me want to make my own games. Applying for a Games Design course in University is the first step to becoming a Game Designer/Developer.

I first realised I wanted to work in the creative industries when I was around 10 years old. I loved creating games to play with friends and I loved reflecting on ways I would have approached some challenges of a game I just played. Eventually, I found out there were no Universities in Italy offering a Game Design course and left this dream on the side. When I moved to London, improved my English and settled down in life I decided to join a University and try to turn my dream into my career.

I've always wanted a creative industries role with my interest being in game there has always been a drive for me to create what I have always enjoyed in my life.

I always loved playing games from when I was young, which really inspired me to wanting to become a game developer myself. It's good because you get paid a large majority.

I was unclear about my future because I did a lot of hobbies such as Sports Graphic Design and playing the keyboard, which slowly dropped. One consistent hobby that I liked was gaming which is an enjoyable pastime. When I found out that my college has a gaming course, I was hesitant to join but eventually I did. It taught me so many skills such as 3D modelling and texturing and I gained enjoyment from it. It gave me confidence for me to one day work for the creative industry.

Since college when I took Computing as an A Level subject and we made a rudimentary game using Python - I made a copy of the popular mobile game 2048.
