Round of applause for our sponsors

I've started a study in programming before actually realising I wanted to do something with game art. I've realised after 2 years of that study (I did finish the full 4 years tho..) that something creative was more suited for me. Before 3 years ago I did nothing in art and started my journey back then. Although I learned the basics in university, most of my actual skills are self thought. I like to go into environment concept art world but before I can realise that I have much to learn.

I have always been creative but it took me a while to pursuit a career in this field. I did A-levels in economy and after that I researched things to study. I had a look at the CMGT study of Saxion and loved what I saw. I enrolled and since then I enjoy learning everything about the process of making art in this industry. This is now around 2 years ago and it has lead me to be creative every single day.

During my gap year, after high school, I was struggling to decide what direction to go in next. I knew I wanted to be a creative, I just wasn't very inspired by what I thought were my options at the time. It was during a very uninspiring product design internship that I stumbled upon a concept art magazine and as if out of nowhere I suddenly realized that I could become a game artist. From there I set off to discover how much I love 3D as a medium.

I've always been fascinated by video games and deciding to explore making games as a career made me realize that I have a passion for environment art. Since then I've been focusing on creating environments and high quality props.

It wasn't a single moment for me. It was the reoccurring slump that you have after finishing a great game, book, series, or whatever else you enjoy. That moment when your brain is still deeply ingrained in the world, its cultures, rules, character. But the story ran out. That world no longer exists anywhere, but your memory. I both love and dread that moment. But more than anything, it tickles my brain in just the right ways that I can't avoid using the memories to create something, anything.

I realised that I want to create 3D worlds when I went to an university fare and found an animation school, I thought it would be pretty cool to do something related to that. From there, I started learning Blender as a hobby and after a while, I really wanted to get into it properly so I started studying a Game Design and Production course in the Netherlands.

When I was 12 I realised I have an urge to create things and there is nothing I can do about it. At first I started with coding and making simple games. As my passion and abilities grew I realised more things I can do. I began making more complicated games, drawing all the assets(2D), animating them and putting them in my games. I was a little afraid of 3D, but when I began my studies I realised it's nothing to be afraid of. These days my passion lays in the hands of 3D Rigging and Technical Art

When I 3D modeled a toy car in Maya to prepare for the interview at my current study, it was the 1st object I made. This motivation was further enforced when I delved further into 3D artistry and learned how to use the program Zbrush. I'm trying to further optimize my 3D pipeline and learn more regarding Retopology, UV mapping, 3D Texturing, Rigging, Baking ,etc.

Modding games and taking them apart was a good part of growing up, especially during high school. As time passed by I was introduced to 3D modelling, animation and later on design. Recently I have been introduced to Houdini and cannot stop using it.
