Round of applause for our sponsors

It started as a hobby while in high school creating backrounds for school plays and entering school art competitions. Until friends, teachers, and classmates told me that I should consider pursuing it since is something I love and love exploring.

I watched a documentary on the development behind The Last Of Us. The documentary was the length of a movie but it showed me many aspects of game design. Character design and level design stood out to me but eventually, I found a liking to character art.

It all started with a Mortal Kombat behind the scenes video. I saw how they took Scorpion from concept to a finished model. I was in my early teens when I saw this. Later on when i was older i knew i wanted to go to college, but didn't really know for what. I started browsing through a career book, and that's when i came across game development and art. I was a tradiotonal drawer and i did a bit of tagging, but i never thought about it as a career. Now I'm an Animation & VFX Student at NMSU.

During Highschool I had an art teacher who showed us all about the animation and entertainment industries. I was captivated by the world inside the initiatives and how they take it to the next level.

I've wanted to make art ever since I can remember.

I have always loved drawing. My love for drawing started with doodling cartoon characters I have seen on TV. I was obsessed with drawing characters and soon after started creating my own cartoons.

I got into 3D because I wanted to create the visuals that were always floating around in my head. Growing up, I went to a small school that had few opportunities for people interested in CG. So I would create movies for any school project I could, always giving myself 10 times the work but having the satisfaction of telling a story I was passionate about. After high school, I learned my local university had an art school, there I learned the real craft of 3D and discovered the VFX Industry.

I decided after finishing my high school that I want to work in animation industry, at that point I was not sure how it works but through out the years I have developed my skills with art and various technical heavy software.

Fascinated by stories projected both on the screen and in books as a child, I never could have imagined how much effort and love was embedded into every frame and illustration. It wasn’t until 2018 that I took my first art class and fell in love with storytelling through various mediums. While relatively new to the animation, storytelling, and visual industry, I strive to make each piece as polished as time will allow me, whilst still trying to maintain and convey the underlying story.

When I found out I enjoyed making cartoons in comic form when I was 10 years old.

When I started first tinkering with blender. I didn't realize how fun the 3D world is and wanted to mess with any button possible. Experimenting and finding new things is and will always be my favorite thing to do.

I first realised I wanted to work in the creative media and entertainment industry when I saw transformers. Story aside, the visuals were groundbreaking. I always wondered how they made gigantic robots to fight each other with so many internal pieces moving independently.

I've been drawing all my life ever since I was old enough to play Twisted Metal on the PS1 (I was 6 by the way haha). That, along with my family living in Japan at the time, got me exposed to the culture and eventually got me hooked into anime. From then on, I was drawn to the creative industry and illustrating became an escape/hobby/passion for a long time. It got me through a lot of things growing up and I want to pay that forward and help others through entertainment as well!
