I was studying games design at college and got taught about both the VFX industry, this instantly clicked with me as I am generally a creative person and from there I went to university to study CGI & VFX and further my understanding of the industry.

I’ve always had a passion for games ever since me and my brother had our first GameBoys and our N64. Once I got to high school and college I found myself looking at games in a more technical stand point of ideas which could improve them. I started at college by joining the Computer Games Development course and my journey has gone from there.

I first realised that I wanted to go into the industry when I really got into games at a young age, having fun with them and enjoying what other people had made but it wasn't until later when I found out that I wanted to take more of a professional route into the industry when I was looking for what I wanted to study at collage.

I have always played games since I was younger. After leaving college, I thought about what I wanted to do and thought it would be a cool thing to get into. So I applied for the course at University and went from there! Best decision I ever made.

After studying creative media in college, I started to use 3DS Max and found out that there were university courses orientated around CGI & Visual Effects.

I found my passion in character design ever since I went to college. Since then, my passion grew stronger as I went to higher educations to study human anatomy and sculpture as well as learning new software to help me learn more about character art for game industry.

Whilst i couldn't give you a specific time i always knew i wanted to work in the Games industry from a fairly young age - i think i really decided around age 14 when i spent the summer doing some Admin work for my Dad's financial advisers company - i remember thinking to myself "i can't see myself doing this for a job, there must be something more exciting out there for me" and from there i started planning and looking into how to get into the games industry

When I came across a games development course at my local college.

Playing games has always being a big part of my life and gave a me a lot of memories and expeirences I couldn't really get in every day life, I wanted to get into making games to help give that experience to other people.

My passion started from childhood through video games, cartoons, and writing. I developed a love for visual worlds while playing on the PS1, and it grew all the while as I moved to the PS2, CD-ROMs, and finally to online PC gaming. I was also glued to the TV at the end of the school day to watch Cartoon Network, or I'd write my own stories on my old laptop. Eventually I realised everything I loved was everything I wanted to make, so I knew I would have to find a way to make it my career.

Watching behind the scenes videos for movies and games from a very young age

Since I was a kid, I've always been creatively inclined. From drawing to clay work to 3D modelling and even music, I've explored various creative media throughout my life and always knew I wanted to work in the creative industry.

I've wanted to work in the creative industries most of my life, I've done many different things across different mediums in the past but as I've grown video games have always been something I've enjoyed. When I reached college level I began focusing on the games industry and what aspect of it I wanted to get into. This has culminated into my current status of being a university student studying games art with a focus on characters.

When I was younger, playing new games was a consistent source of inspiration. I'd like to make things that provide a similar experience to whatever generation ends up playing them.

I have always had a keen eye when watching movies, i have always been into all the Marvel films and wanted to be apart of what brings the creativity to the big screen

iv always had a passion for games, a I play a lot of different genres. Now that I have a clear ide of the work flow and the level of work and dedication needed. I want to continue to pursue a carer and to develop a stronger skill and mid set towards the industry.

During lockdown, I got my first PS4 and played "The Last of Us". Since then I care about gaming, and realised that it can carry a narrative that makes a difference. Inspired, I started learning Blender and modelling on my dad's old laptop. I found it to be a calming and expressive like my passion for writing. Games are important. Throughout the years, I've needed to pursue a career in Games. This is something I truly love and know I will have a future in.

I've known since I was in year 7 at secondary school. I know this for a fact as I wrote a letter in year 7 to myself in year 11 in which I wrote how I wanted to be a games designer when I grow up. I have always played games with some of my earliest memories being on Mario Kart: Double Dash with my Dad and Sister. By about age 9/10 I remember pausing my missions in DC Universe Online to actually take time to look at the environments and textures and wonder how they were made!

I always excelled at creative things compared to more analog forms of production, it just felt natural

When I was very young in year 6 of primary school, I always dreamed of working on World of Warcraft since I grew up playing it, or wishing I could make something for Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. Throughout High School, I spent a lot of time drawing and getting better at colouring which boosted my skills for when I went to College to further refine my traditional and digital art skills and learn 3D modelling, to now, in University where I've been lucky to expand my knowledge in this field.

My interest in creativity in games has been developed through my realisation that I am interested in experiencing the game rather than the drive to win or complete it. This interest in the game itself, its art construction, story design and production led me to realise that rather than just a hobby I was interested in pursuing how it all works.

After playing my first Pokémon game, I wanted to make my own sprites.
