When I was 3 and scribbled in my mom's expensive books.

When I was in Junior high school.

When I was a kid, I start drawing. I love watching movie. It is amazing that I am able to create the fantasy world inside. I also like to do character design and the concept creation. In my free time, I will also like to go traveling.

I have always loved video games from a player's perspective. However I did not think it was a possible career path for me after graduating with a BA in fine art in 2014. After many years of working in jobs I wasn't happy at, I finally decided to take the plunge and apply for a masters in games design in 2019 and haven't looked back since.

I've always had a interest in cartoons and animation. I've grown up drawing and creating stories, soon turning my creations to comics. I watched animated movies and TV shows as inspiration, which sparked my hope of one day becoming an animator and creating my own TV show. I practised and soon got into the study of 2D animation, creating short films and making people smile or interested in the characters. This helped me realise that I can continue doing what I love to joy to others.

Art was always part of my life since a young age and I will and always have had a passion for creativity. As I entered secondary school programming and coding took an equally large part of my free time. Around the same age, there were video games I wanted to play but I didn't always have the means to get the games, so I set about trying to make my own. I soon discovered how art and computer science can be brought together in this fantastic industry and set about devoting all my time to it.

I first realised I wanted to work in this industry around the age of 14. I loved drawing and filling up sketchbooks, and then received an art book of Alan Lee's work for Lord of the Rings. Although it is all in pencil, slowly I researched and learnt more about the industry, and fell in love with painting and developing unique ideas.

When I was sixteen and was able to get work experience at a local games studio. I loved the creative and accepting environment they had and from then on, I knew I wanted to be part of a creative team that collaborated on fun and challenging projects.

A passion for Art and an interest in Computer science led me to my discovery of the VFX industry. I have studied Visual Art intensively in my early years engaging in Life drawing lessons and scultpure lessons as well my a visual arts course in secondary education. However, ultimately my interest in technology and porblem solving skills drew me to the explore the world of Visual Effects.

Since I was little I was captivated by large scale immersive games such as World of Warcraft. I had a dream that one day I will be the one making such landscapes. However after enrolling in university I decided to pursue a career in the VFX industry as I got to know more about it. I have a burning passion for achieving photo realistic work and I hope one day I will be a part of that industry.

I remember being quite young when my mom let me rent a DVD to watch - Treasure Planet. I was blown away by the story, the art, the animation and what looked like 3D environments. I always loved drawing, but that film made me realize I wanted to be part of the film industry, so later on I joined University and tried 3D, where I absolutely fell in love with the technology.

After I started learning 3D software

During high school I realized that working in the visual effects industry is the perfect way of combining my lifelong interests in art and film/TV. I am drawn to the power of being able to make anything imaginable if you have the skills, and that goal motivates me to continue improving over the course of my career. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ www.QuinnThompson.net

I have always drawn and been creative growing up. I wanted to get more out of my drawing and be able to tell a story with them. I tried animating on paper and fell in love so I signed up for university. I was there that I figured out what I truly enjoyed and what it takes to do this for a job.

I have consumed a lot of media and games over the years, so I feel the need to belong in their creative process. I've always been encouraged to draw and express my ideas, as I grew, I wanted to make them move and come to life, like so many films that I watched, so I enrolled in the 2D Animation course at the University of Hertfordshire. I then found my passion for digital sculpting, so I transferred to 3D Animation, and then to Games Art.

I think i realised when I figured out I could mod old games when I was younger, starting with Call of Duty: World at War in 2012 Ever since I have been fascinated with learning new things that allow me to create new and interesting things I love.

ive known from the very early stages of my childhood that i wanted to create characters. When i was young my eldest sister would rent VHS tapes of shows like Transformers, Batman, etc. Along with ps1 games like Crash bandicoot and Tekken. As a child i was captivated by these characters and there larger than life persona's and as i grew older and i watched and played more shows and games i began to relate more to them and realised i wanted to make characters that people could relate to also.

When I was younger, I always use to watch cartoons from Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, disney and pixar films. This made me figure out what my passion is at a young age, and at that time it was drawing. Having being an artist all my life, I wanted to take it to the next level - doing animation at Sixth Form and then taking it into University. There, I learnt the ways of how to animate properly, what the industry needs and the quality of work i should be producing in my showreel.

When I was 16 years old I discovered Cinema 4D whilst pursuing a career in Graphic Design, this was the first time I realised how incredible the 3D world is and have since been learning every software and skill possible to progress into the 3D, VFX industry. I have always been a fan of sci-fi and horror films, this love for all things out of this world has driven my passion to create amazing detailed creatures and unusual assets for film.

Films transport the viewer to far off exotic worlds. The characters, though fictitious, are often profoundly relatable. As I watch a movie I sometimes visualise myself as the main protagonist. I imagine myself accomplishing their impossible feats. Though somewhat embarrassing this experience feels me with courage. I would very much like to play my part in making films so I can impart this experience to others.

I have always been interested in drawing since a very young age, drawing my favourite characters from TV, but it was only until the age of 11 where I realised I wanted to take this to a higher level. Throughout my secondary school I was studying to go into illustration, but within my last years at sixth form I decided to study animation at The University of Hertfordshire. My love for animation has only increased since then, and I am determined to keep improving in my area.

I wanted to work in the games industry, when I was sixteen years old (after I left secondary school). I had to learn art from scratch at college in 2016 (first year doing drawing), so that I was able to get a place on a games art course. My dream job is to be a 3D environment artist or 3D Artist focusing on either props or environment art.

When I was 5, I would make tiny paper Zelda items and little clay Kirbys, Goombas and Boos and I told my primary school teachers that I wanted to work for Nintendo when I grew up.
