All my life I've been doing creative stuff like drawing, painting, playing music, .. But only recently after working in an engineering job for a year I realized that I would be most happy working in the creative industry.

I think I realized pretty early on back in 8th grade that I love art a lot and drew quite a bit. But I just wasn't really sure what to do. So I tested the waters a lot within the creative field and eventually found my home in Zbrush, with organic mesh creation.

I first realized that I wanted to work in this industry during my time in highschool. As a child, I always had a passion for art and I just knew I wanted to pursue a career path related to this, later in life. The fact that my sister is a game developer herself, further fueled my interest in specifically the gaming industry.

As a teenager I became very interested into making my own mobile applications and small games, and that feeling has never left me. I need to be able to express my creativeness to feel good!

When working on a graduation piece in high school my eyes landed on DAE, realising I could study art for games was a world changer. With that I plunged head first into the creative industries.

Since I was a child I loved to draw especially characters so I learned a lot over the years. After 10th grade when it was time to think what I wanna do later I was sure it has to be something creative because I love it that much.

When i finished highschool

Navigating a career in the creative industries often feels like a patchy one. However, each gap presents fresh opportunities waiting to be discovered. I have an immense passion for life, and art has the remarkable ability to anchor us in the present moment, inviting us to revel in its timeless beauty for countless lifetimes.

Film has always been my favorite form of art. I could get lost in a movie saga or tv-series and it would bring me the most amount of joy. I always figured I would do 'something' in film but never knew what that would be. After some years of smaller jobs I decided to go and study VFX. I can honestly say this was one of the better decisions that I made in my life because the enjoyment I get out of this type of art is hard to put into words.

Since I was young I always enjoyed drawing and animating in 2D. And as i grew older, I realized I wanted to expand more into 3D, character design, game development and visual effects.

I used to visit m grandparents every wednesday and watch a lot of VHS's with them, they had quite an impressive movie collection. Over the years of doing this I only fell more and more in love with film and cinema. After many years I wanted to take part in making films and started making short films with my nephews and brothers for the rest of my family to watch. I really enjoyed every part of it and later on decided to make it my future profession.

I studied mathematics and Latin in high school but early on realized my real passion was in arts. After high school I did a 360° and enrolled in media arts at KASK school of arts in Ghent BE, there I focused on sound art, 3d printing, scanning etc. In my years there my interest slowly shifted towards 3d modeling and after covid-19 I took the risk, quit my masters thesis at KASK and enrolled at DAE digital arts and entertainment with the hopes of becoming a lighting or environment artist.

I have always been doing artistic things. I first started following art classes when I was around 6 years old. I did this for about 6 years when I realized, we also had other courses at the academy. I switched to a course called 'audiovisual studio'. In this course I was able to enroll myself a lot more. I chose to do editing in this new course, and I loved it. When I saw the dragon rising out of the liquid gold, in 'The Hobbit' movie, I knew I wanted to do VFX.

As soon as I started becoming more interested in the development behind my favorite games I realised I wanted to be a part of that and make games myself.

The first time I knew I wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path was around the age of 15, when most people struggle with the dooming question: what do you want to do with your future. When making that decision, I choose for what gives me the most joy, watching animation series and movies.

Many years ago, I aspired to become a character artist, although my dream of becoming a character artist didn't materialize, my passion for the art form still endures. I have since discovered another passion in the field of environment art, and I find great joy in bringing immersive worlds to life through my work.

I first intended to study fashion. But during the process of exploring different art mediums to express my ideas, I became more and more fascinated by 3D Digital arts. And this is what made me redefine my career choices and applied to a digital art school to specialise myself in Houdini and scripting as I found out how exciting was the procedural workflow and its way of thinking.

I liked drawing for a while before I actually knew you could get a job doing something like this. I realized this was actually something I'd be interested in doing right before finishing middle school. I really liked video games and I finally realized that someone must make them, right? I decided then and there that that sounded like a really fun job and here I am! Video games have always been really important to me, and I wish to give back to this industry that practically raised me.

When I was younger my big brother introduced me into games, from me farming for him on runescape to playing Minecraft together. Since then I have been a gamer and it never ended. When high school was done I saw an ad online of the university I am currently in. Once I saw that I realised this is what I wanted to do in the future and signed up the next day.

When I was around 12-13 I realized I wanted to be part of the creation of those amazing films that made everyone sympathize with characters on a screen. After some research, I realized that it was a real job and from that moment on I knew that that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life: putting a smile on people's faces while doing what I love.
