I'd always been really into creating stories and characters but I knew that I wanted to work in creative industries from around 16/17 years old. In 2021, I graduated with Animation Production degree which had allowed me to learn and refine my 2D digtal drawing skills while teaching me some much needed art fundamentals. Then, dabbled in some freelance gigs. However, as it stands now, I am looking to learn more and widen the range of my abilities by learning the 3D side of digital art.

Since I was very young, watching Saturday morning cartoons and drawing all the characters. When I learnt people make animation for a living, I've wanted to create animated narratives. I love telling stories, designing characters and their worlds, and I want to build a career doing something I love. I've always wanted to work in storyboarding and comics, but since university, I've been teaching myself to animate.

3 years ago when I started my degree in Makeup for Media and Performance.

I realised I wanted to seriously work as an illustrator during my college years (age 16-18) after realising that my creative pursuits gave me much more happiness than my traditional academic studies: I spent my history classes marvelling at the exquisite portraits and drawn propaganda, and my law classes doodling in the empty space between my notes.

I started animating when I was 8 years old using plasticine, marshmallows (a bit strange I know) and a camcorder, through my early teens I continued to draw and create stories absolutely obsessed with cartoons and YouTube tutorials on animation. It wasn't until my late teens that I realised I could pursue storytelling and animation as a career and it's been full steam ahead ever since!

When I watched the behind the scenes extras on Pacific Rim and Ratatouille.

I really enjoyed playing video games since I was a child and I was always curious on how people manage to create video games. Thus began my journey to 3D modelling. I loved video games and this is what motivated to set my path towards the video games industry. I always wanted to be a part of it, specially in the asset creation department. I always imagine that one day that I'll be able to see my own work in a video game.

I started playing around in Photoshop as a kid and the curiosity led me to learn more and more related software and trying to get better at designing and concepting, eventually starting to learn ZBrush, Maya and others.

Media was the only thing that I could stay awake in at school, the only thing that could keep me interested for hours and hours on end. A viewing of Tron legacy and a bachelor's degree later i'm now enthralled by anything environments.

When I first discovered photoshop at the age of 14.

In Secondary school I was given a list of every job that currently existed in 3rd level education in my country. Visual Effects and Animation weren't on that list. I'm very stubborn and this pushed me to keep going, and I'm even studying abroad now. I won't let anything get in the way of my goal, despite all the set backs. I'm almost graduated now and so happy with my choice. I can't imagine doing anything else!

I first realized that I wanted to work in VFX at the VFX course talk at Art University Bournemouth. I loved that it was a cross of art and maths two of my passions. Also film has always interested me and I wanted to make magic on screen.

I remember being blown away by the environments in World of Warcraft, back when I started playing it in 2006 - And had a dream of creating Environments/Worlds for a living. Years later I started doing a lot of Graphic design and Video editing, which then made me look into VFX, I studied a BA VFX focusing mostly on Compositing until I realized Matte painting was a thing - Combining my love for film/video with creating environments, I knew this is what I wanted to pursue.

When inspired from watching anime.

While studying interior architecture and design at university, I developed and expanded my skills and knowledge of the field, where I gained an interest and passion for creating architectural renders and visualisations of interior and exterior spaces. Providing successful and effective final visuals to communicate my designs and ideas and how these creations will look and function.

My first use of "VFX" was when I was about 10 years old. I used a VHS-C Handycam to create hidden cuts to make it look like my friends were teleporting from one side of the room to the other as they hid behind sofas and armchairs. I have never really stopped since. When I was 13 I watched wanted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QADr4hVKs3Y I loved the final shot of the movie so much I had to learn how to do it so I started to learn 3D. I'm now 22.

When I was studying my A-levels

From a young age. I've been making storyboards and comics since I could draw and had my first camcorder at 10 years old

When I realised that I want to do what I enjoy most, I love creating stuff so I want to be able to enjoy my job.

I've always loved illustration as a hobby since childhood; but did not consider it to be more than a hobby until my decision to pursue this at university. During this time in my second year I was able to learn animation skills and freely explore my style in animation within the security of university. The moment I completed my first 2D animation was the moment I knew I wanted to work in the creative media and entertainment industry.

I realised I wanted to work in the media industry when I first looked for a University course. That seems late, but looking back I feel I had a passion for film, specifically animated film, way before then. I just didn't know that making films was a job you could actually have. The first thing I ever tried to animate was a stop-motion car crash in my early teens.
