Round of applause for our sponsors

Really enjoyed Art while attending High school as I enjoyed story writing and character design. I went to college to further my skills and broaden my understanding, while at college I was able to experiment with a variety of mediums and different artistic paths. I'm currently studying as a first year at Abertay University on the Computer Arts course and have a preference for concept design and illustration with a focus on characters.

I realized it during the first year of interior design, and it was later confirmed in the second year when I approached a lecturer for a Game Design module in another course, that I was able to attend. There I decided to move to Scotland and start my journey at Abertay.

Ever since I first played dave on the PC, when I was 4 years old, I've always been intrigued about games, growing up I was fascinated and always wanted to know how these games were made. I also free a lot as a kid growing up. In school when I found out about game art I jumped at the first chance to pursue a career in the industry.

Since attending Glasgow city College I wanted to expand my knowledge of animation, 2D and 3D environment art. Since being enrolled at Abertay University my skills have grown exponentially my main focus is to become a 3D environment artist in the gaming industry, and 3D printing as a side expedition.

About 4 years ago, when I got my hands on the Artbook of the Last of Us. I never knew about the depth of design and artistic direction found in video games. I always enjoyed designing and drawing, I wanted to be an interior/fashion designer before, but then I realised that video games, my other beloved hobby, needed artists! And ever since then I keep diving deeper and deeper into the universe of design and concept art for video games and film.

I've had a passion for creative work since my youth.

It is a dream I've had most of my life, since seeing the dev documentaries for Halo 2 released with the special edition and with my father being a programmer, it felt natural. Over the year I've moved and realised that I would like to be a 3D artist within the games industry.

Being brought up around movies and video games, I have always felt inspired by the impact they are able to make; whether it's the comfort of watching the fox and the hound or the excitement of playing sunset overdrive. Animation plays a big part in making something feel alive so I want to create that magic myself.

I grew up playing games and always had a passion for them, I loved the worlds they created and the stories they told. Art and English was the only subjects I truly worked hard for in high school and I couldn't see myself wanting to work a job that didn't involve them, especially art, in some way. I ended up going to college for Illustration, and now uni for Computer Art.

When i was around 16 or 17, I had realised that i spent all my time consuming media and decided to make it into my career, doing a 180 on stem, that i had been prepping for prior, and started taking art seriously. That was roughly 6 or 7 years ago

Really since watching my first Disney production I have been interested in animation and movement. This alongside a life long love of video games has eventually led me to study at Abertay. While it's taken me a while to get here, I feel I'm in a much better place to pursue a career as a mature student

I first realised that I wanted to work in the creative industries when I was, probably, around four years old. The Incredibles, directed by Brad Bird, had hit the cinemas in ’04 and, two years later, it was still a movie inescapable for my family. I was obsessed with it, and still am, as it introduced me to the power of storytelling and the art of art; the joy and expression found in bringing your own concepts to life.

I first wanted to work in creative industries In High school when I realised working in games was an option

I have been an artist all my life, but have been working with traditional up until I left secondary school to pursuit a career in the games industry. Besides that, I wrote a lot of stories with worlds and characters that I have worked on for almost a decade. It is a dream of mine to give back to the world that inspires me.

I key memory for me was watching Blizzcon 2019 and the release of the new Overwatch hero Sombra. The passion of the team and the excitement of the crowd (and myself) inspired me to want to be part of a creative, passionate team creating incredible games.

Ever since I was 16 I always dreamt of being there with developers working on my favourite games when watching documentaries and video diaries, wishing to be listed in the credits. I always liked working with computers and troubleshooting tech issues other people came to me to complain about and I figured the best way to realise that dream was to enrol in a university studying game development and programming. Here I am having graduated in 2021 still hopeful about the future, improving everyday

I've been playing video games and interacting with other mediums like books, music and film since I was young. Joining a creative industry seemed the most natural thing for me to do given how I've been learning instruments such as drums and piano as well as spending time in my teens making games using pseudo-game engines. As a student in a game design course I now spend my time learning how to use game engines and modding tool s, as well as expanding my music making and sound design efforts.

I have always been interested in games design so I applied for games design and production and through the art modules I have been able to further develop my 3D modelling that i learned during high school

To me there's nothing cooler than working in the creative sector. After leaving high school, I naturally gravitated towards creative disciplines which started out as a hobby. As I learned more about the industry I realised there were pathways into careers in games, and the wider entertainment sector.

I had a strong interest in art throughout high school, and decided to pursue a degree in Computer arts at Abertay university. There I learned fundamentals of digital art, including 3D modelling, rigging, animation and concept art . 2D animation and character design for games and film are at the core of my work interests

I began fiddling around with 3D software when I was in middle school. I gradually became aware of the digital art industry and then videogames graphics specifically. I had a lot of fun and as time went on and as I built up skills, I decided to pursue it as a career path and enrolled in a Computer Arts bachelor.

Early in my secondary education I was introduced to 3D designing programmes and was quickly hooked, wanting to create ever more elaborate and beautiful works of art. This opened a world of opportunities inside my mind and since then I knew this is what I wanted to pursue.

Around age 17, when I was nearing the end of high school and I noticed that the only thing I could see myself working on for the rest of my life was creative projects such as game art, animation, or any other artistic project that inspired me.
