Round of applause for our sponsors

I have wanted to go into a creative subject since I was young and first beginning to get into art at around 10 years old. I have always enjoyed the Games industry and am extremely grateful for the opportunities I have to work in this field. Now, I want to learn how to work in collaboration with other creative people with a range of ideas, and hone my skills as an artist.

Ever since I was very young, I loved to draw. I always knew I wanted a career in art. After high school I bought myself a Wacom tablet and did a lot of self- learning through courses, tutorials and art books. I researched the various creative industries, at first leaning towards animation and 3D modelling but quickly discovered that I most enjoy illustration. I am now working on honing my skills and landing a job doing what I love most.

Started using 3d modelling tools as a hobby when I was 12 and became completely fixated on the world of game development and art in my last year of secondary school. I then explored it by going to college to learn more about the fundamentals of creating art for games. During college, my ambition only grew and pushed me further into learning, experimenting and entering University.

I realized that art was a way to express myself, and I was happy to look into 3D as well as 2D art.

Like many, I loved creating worlds of my own in my head as a child, this desire never left me and only grew and developed with honing my skills in 2D drawing, and later now delving into 3D assets and UI designs.

I have been interested in art and creatives since I could hold a pen, but I first discovered the joys of animation when I was 11 and have been learning how to animate by myself since then. I am currently in my second year of university at Escape Studios where I have decided to study 2D animation, after years of self learned animation I have been eager to learn from professionals and learn the ropes in industry standard software.

I realized I wanted to become a concept artist for games/film around the year 2017 with the release of the game Horizon Zero Dawn! The character and mecha designs of the game really inspired me to develop my own artistic skills in order to one day join the industry in the future.

Since art became my hobby in my young teen years, illustrating quite nooby pencil artworks, I was always inspired by digital paintings and renowned illustrators such as Riot artists and Guweiz. Always gazing into the dynamic and colourful digital works of the industry, I only wanted to do the same and express my artistic style of painting and assisting the creative industries to completing their projects.

When I got my first drawing tablet roughly 5 years ago to learn digital after many years of traditional painting, I realized it's possible to pursue a career in the game industry. And since I grew up playing video games this path sounded too interesting and challenging to say no to.

When I was in college/sixth form I started to take my art more seriously, I started branching out and learning to use different kinds of media. I was a realism and portrait artist. I started developing my own style and turning to digital media, with programmes such as Procreate and Photoshop.

I am always interested in Art and design since I was really young, however before I chose Computer animation as my major, I always thought I would become an illustrator. When I am first made a clay model in my high school, I realised my love for 3D art and creation, which makes me became a 3D animation student.

I first wanted realised I wanted to work in the creative industry back in 2014. This is where I stumbled across the fantastic artwork of concept artist Trent Kaniuga and ever since I have been trying to take an educational path that would lead to the game and film industry. My journey really picked up the pace when I came to Staffordshire University to learn Games Art. I eventually chose to specialise in characters as I am most passionate about them.

I've always had an interest in the visual arts, but was first introduced to the option of working as an artist in the entertainment industry during my A-level years when I first discovered concept artists and their work online which inspired me then and there and set me on the path I'm currently on to become a professional concept artist.

For as long as I can remember, I've desired employment in the visual effects field. I began my journey by using the computer to create simple visual effects shots, such as one depicting a lightsaber battle.

After playing Skyrim because i became obsessed with digital art afterward and took drawing more seriously.

I am a naturally gifted artist and designer, 3D was always on my mind.

1st year of university I attended a game arts course and found that I could combine my love for creating characters and concepts with 3D techniques which could be used for video games which I had a passion for playing.

I played a lot of video games when I was younger and always had a passion for creating them, so I followed any possible route that would take me there which let me to an animation class in college. Over the 2 year course I slowly wanted to go down into the film industry instead, as It felt way more exciting to me, and that has now led me to the CGI and VFX course in Uni.

I had always known that I wanted to be a part of the creative industry since I was pretty young. It wasn't until I finally went to uni that I discovered my love for 3D art and all its possibilities. It's now my passion and dream and I look forward to showing what I can do.

I realised i wanteed to work in the creative media industry when i went to the open day for Belfast met to look at the different courses and seen how the VFX course looked and what it can offer to students and made the decision once i seen the final animations from past students throughout the years.

As long as i can remember i have always wanted to do something with art.3D was something that really stuck with me and i have been exploring and learning about it ever since.
