I'm a student from SCAD. I'm going to graduate this quarter. This my first time join a contest like this. Only have two month left, but I guess it is better late than never! It is going to be fun!

Some look development idea for the monster and the environment. I want the monster in this epic battle coming from the hell. The hell flame erupts from his mounth. It will trigger the cyborg's shield.
The reference is from Thor vs Surtur - Fight Scene - Thor Ragnarok (2017) Movie CLIP HD

Wedges for the mix constraint breaking condition. The average sim time is 2 hours. The angle ranges from 0.19 to 2.2. I also try some different details for fracture with higher resolution.
Here is the rbd simulation I will choose to use for the coming up FX.

I use different constraint in the RBD and tweak the setting to make the group has some bending and cluster before the fracture happen. Here are the result.

That's what I have now. I will focus on the destrution first.
Here is the low rez rbd sim. I isolate part of the ground for the rbd. I create two layers of rock with some viriants to make them different. I will continue to work on the high rez sim to add more details .

Hello everyone, I'm Chen.
I'm a graduate student majoring in Visual Effects and Game Development in Savannah College of Art and Design. And I'm going to graduate this quarter. I 'm full of enthusiasm in CG field and focus on houdini FX.
It is the first time I join a contest like this. It's an amazing opportunity. I 'd like to create some new works and learn some new stuffs. Even though It is a little bit to join, but I guess it is better late than never!
Feb 15 Reference for the FX
I will focus on the first and the second shoot. For the first one, I want the monster out of ground and then they have battle. The cinematics of Starcraft and Diablo3 inspired me a lot. I want to create some effect like this.
